In the heart of Norse mythology lies the tale of Jörmungandr, the Great Serpent of Midgard. Legend says that this titan grew so vast that it eventually encircled the entire realm of humanity, Midgard, biting its own tail to hold the world together.

This sculpture captures that legendary essence. The serpent represents the thin, shimmering boundary between the known world and the vast chaos of the unknown. It is a meditation on the eternal cycle of life, reflecting the primordial strength of the earth and the invisible connections that bind all living things.

Crafted from hand-cut and welded steel plates, the sculpture’s undulating body mimics a powerful, rhythmic movement. The visible weld seams are not mere construction points; they act as the creature’s scales, creating a raw, organic texture that invites the observer to experience the work through both sight and touch.

The choice of untreated black-rusted steel allows the piece to develop a natural patina over time, echoing the passage of centuries and giving the work a soul that feels both industrial and ancient.
