Public commissions
Olav Lunde’s work for public spaces are characterized by a unique ability to create site-specific identities that blend the imaginative with the deeply human.
Driven by the conviction that art should be accessible to everyone, Olav intentionally incorporates tactile and interactive elements that invite visitors to experience his work through multiple senses.
Recurrent to his creative process is the use of recycled materials. By skillfully repurposing components from discarded machinery and tools, he breathes new life into objects that carry their own histories.
The result is a form of "organic mechanics" that not only enriches the urban environment aesthetically but also serves as inclusive meeting places where everyone can feel a sense of belonging and engagement.
To ensure reliable production and delivery for projects of any size, the artist maintains an extensive network of professional partners.
Presented below are selected public commissions that represent the artist's work
through the last decade and a half.
