"The refuging pavillion"
A collaboration with Rejmyre Art Lab in creating The Refuging Pavilion (Tillflyktspaviljongen) | 2022
Hired as Site Manager, Builder, and overall Fixer, Olav Lunde managed the full practical execution, construction, and technical assembly of The Refuging Pavilion (Tillflyktspaviljongen) for Rejmyre Art Lab.
Conceived by artist Daniel Peltz and designed by architect Kristoffer Tejlgaard, the transparent geodesic dome investigates how a historic industrial town, shaped by glassmaking and timber extraction, can transform into a sanctuary for creative research, ecological care, and community refuge.
Operating as the key liaison between conceptual art, architectural design, and physical construction, Lunde worked alongside project manager Tracy Jonsson-Laboy, Daniel Peltz, and the Rejmyre Art Lab team to oversee on-site logistics, structural troubleshooting, and the precision assembly of the complex geometric framework.Resembling a sanctuary greenhouse embedded in the forest landscape, the structure's realization relied heavily on Lunde’s hands-on leadership, structural problem-solving, and deep understanding of local materials and site conditions to bring this low-impact, site-responsive architectural space to life.
